Isaac gets it. The world doesn't owe him anything, it isn't fair. If it was fair Erica and Boyd would be alive, among other things. But it's harsh and it's cruel and things will take you by surprise whether you want it or not.

Like hearing that Derek and Cora had been leaving town. Despite Derek not being his alpha anymore (or anyone's alpha, anymore) he had wanted to say goodbye. It seemed only right, somehow. But Derek's not here.

Which is why he's sitting here with Cora. It's a little awkward, and finally he breaks the silence.
