The last time Tyler saw Hayley it had been Winter time -- during the holiday festivals, in fact. That was the day that everything changed for Tyler. His pack died. His mother died. And everything spiraled from there. He got chased out of town. And even though he had been "allowed" back it wasn't enough, not now. He needs more than a life on Klaus' terms. It's not enough. The hardest thing he ever does is walk away from Caroline and her ultimatums but he has to do it.
He'll regret it forever if he doesn't.
Which is what's brought him to New Orleans. He doesn't have a fully formed plan yet, but he has to do something. He's restless. He's heard from the grapevine where Klaus is staying -- some old plantation. He goes out to check it out when he knows the Original won't be home.
What he doesn't expect to see is a light near the door, or the girl holding it.
