Mystic Falls has a lot of formal events. And most of them happen at the Lockwood mansion. Tyler still hosts them because he thinks it's what his mother would have wanted. It isn't easy on him, though.

But it helps to have someone pretty to dance with. He smiles, letting his hand rest on Lana's waist as he pulls her close, falling into time with the music. He may not like formal dancing much but like everyone else in Mystic Falls he's well trained in the art.
