Jessica leaves Bon Temps because she's never seen much else of the world. And after the mess she made of her personal life she could use a break, honestly. She ends up in New York because it's always sounded like a fun place to go honestly. She compels her way into an art gallery opening.

She doesn't know much about art but it sounds fun, honestly. She feels like a grown up in her fancy dress. She doesn't get most of the art here, but she tries, standing in front of a painting for a while.

Of course -- what she's looking at more is the handsome man standing next to her. She can't help it. He's as pretty as any of the art here, if not more so.
