Joining the open rp posts bandwagon.
how to play.
1. Drop a comment with one or more of your muses. It can be empty if you want me to make a scenario, or you can toss one at me. If you want to just give me a prompt (a word, song, lyric, picture, phrase, anything), I can riff off that too.
2. In the subject line, you can specify any of my muses you might want to play with, or you can ask me to pick someone.
3. just rp with me. if something jives really well, maybe we can continue it in another one of these later, sort of like a super casual verse. if it doesn't, it doesn't.

It just felt honest. Real. She can't remember when anything felt like either one of those things in her life. Though she's had lovers (more than she could keep count of) she had never really gotten the innocence of a young romance, not when she had been turned into a monster so young. Back in those days, dating wasn't a thing. Women were kept chaste until they were married off. It had robbed her of so many experiences, things she would never get to have.
But now she wasn't so sure. Not that she ever truly forgot what she was, or what she was capable of, but when she was with Matt, she felt like she didn't have to be just a monster. Like she could be just a girl.
For exactly those reasons, she knew she could never tell any of her brothers (save, perhaps, Elijah) about this. Kol already had mocked her at the ball, and Niklaus — she doesn't want to think of what he might do.
But for now, she wasn't worried about any of that, not really. Instead, she was just leaning against him, watching the rest of the film. She couldn't help but smile a little to herself as she felt his lips brush against her hair.
When it ended, she found herself staying still. She didn't want to get up and seperate just yet, but she knew she would have to eventually.]

He told Caroline he wanted to live without all of it, and at the time, he'd meant it. His life wasn't much, but it was his, something he had control over, something he could trust, even if it sucked. He couldn't trust any of them. He couldn't trust what was going on, couldn't trust that he wouldn't be lied to again, couldn't let go of his anger and his grief. Seeing Vicki again helped a long way with that, made him come to terms with a lot of things, reminding him of who he was.
And who he is isn't someone that would leave his friends to deal with it all on his own. For better or for worse, he's a part of the supernatural world, while being human himself. Invisible and sometimes cast aside.
In Rebekah he sees something that he recognizes through it all. She can make her own choices. She doesn't have to be defined by his brother or her family. He wants to believe that. To the point he does. Maybe it's stupid, but he isn't scared of her. Maybe he should let go of her hand, but he doesn't. He isn't sure he could tell anyone of it, either. He's not really thinking about that.
The movie is over, and he doesn't even know what happened to begin with. Matt finally turns to her, those ridiculous glasses on his face that conceal his expression that's indecipherable at the moment.
People start standing up, people start moving, and she remains still and so does he. He lets out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding, and finally turns to her, slipping the glasses off. ]
... Hey. [ God, Caroline would say this is such a lame guy movie. ] That was... something.

But here's the thing: he doesn't feel beneath her at all. Matt is kind, and genuine, and he treats her like she's an equal -- not a tool or just something to use. He's not trying to manipulate her like everyone else, and for the first time in a long time, she feels like she can trust someone, let some of those age old walls down, and she didn't even realize how much she needed that until suddenly she had it.
She takes her own glasses off as she hears him speak, smiling a little.]
It certainly was.
[She's not talking about the movie (though that had been a sight to behold, even if the story could have used some work in her opinion). She's talking about the experience of watching it with him, holding hands the entire time. It's such an innocent gesture and it seems silly to give it so much weight, but she can't help it.]
Thank you, for insisting we do this.
