Open Picture Prompt Post

An Open RP Post, with a ~twist~. Basically, I love picture prompts more than life itself, so this is what you do.

1. You choose one of your characters.
2. You leave me a picture prompt and/or what character of mine you're requesting (if you don't request a specific one, I turn the wheel of RP fortune or something like that).
3. I comment setting up a scenario inspired/based on the prompt
4. profit????

Those are generally the hardest times.
braveandstupid: (Default)

[personal profile] braveandstupid 2013-03-14 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
But you get through them in the end. You have to.
lockwood: (Default)

[personal profile] lockwood 2013-03-14 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
There's not a lot of other options
braveandstupid: (Default)

[personal profile] braveandstupid 2013-03-14 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
And sometimes you find you didn't let them down as much as you think.

[personal profile] lockwood 2013-03-14 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Sometimes.
braveandstupid: (you'd see)

[personal profile] braveandstupid 2013-03-14 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[there's a pause for a moment, before she moves a little closer.]

Why did you come back?
lockwood: (Roaming)

[personal profile] lockwood 2013-03-15 08:20 am (UTC)(link)
I was tired of running. [A life trying to just survive and not put other people in danger -- it's lonely.]

I missed home.

[personal profile] braveandstupid 2013-03-16 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[the narration is keeping this part of canon because they can.]

Do you want to go back? Home, I mean. It's still there -- Matt wouldn't let anyone do anything to it.

[it kept Caroline, kept them safe just like he wanted it to.]

[personal profile] dontkanyeme 2013-03-16 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Is there anything you can do about it? A way to ... inoculate yourself or something?
easily: (I wish I didn't really kiss the mirror)

[personal profile] easily 2013-03-16 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Not that I've ever heard of.
lockwood: ([matt] hanging out)

[personal profile] lockwood 2013-03-16 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's glad -- he couldn't do much to help when he had to leave, but he was able to give them something, a safehouse.]

Sure. Does anyone live there now? [Matt's grankids or something?

He kind of likes that idea. Maybe someone was able to make it a happier home than it ever was for him.

Sort of.

[this should be a surprise. She's going to surprise him.]

It's easier to show you.

[personal profile] dontkanyeme 2013-03-17 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe there's some way to figure that out. There's a lot of magic out there.

Show me what?

[He has a feeling she won't tell him.]

[ if anyone asks her, emotions are useless and she doesn't feel anything. everyone should be turning it off. does wonders for your livelihood, and your haircut if you're elena gilbert.

she's utmost convincing on her best days. time has passed since she was at her most convincing when it came to bargaining with herself, but that hardly matters now. does it? and if an emotion threatens to slip through the cracks and betrays the otherwise impenetrable demeanor, elena pretends not to notice, and she keeps going.

(jeremy is dead. the thought comes to her, in idle moments where thoughts stray away from her. betray her until she sinks into the memory. she thinks of it in a detached manner, like she's thinking of someone else's brother, someone else's life. it might as well be. she doesn't feel anything about it.)

she stomps on the grief, cuts out the parts of herself that were weathering her down, and suddenly she feels invincible and amazing and unmoved by everything and nothing at all. (she'll remember to send damon a thank you card, unless she remembers to forget.) and away from queen caroline and the brothers that loved her too much or not enough, reflections of an image that doesn't always belong to her, elena can do whatever she wants. and what she wants isn't found in blood bags and the pathetic substitute of a craving found in bunnies and deers.

elena wants something warmer. if it comes attached to men victimizing young girls, all the better. she's doing the world a favor.

a finger is loosely curled over a strand of her hair, and she turns at rebekah's comment.
] Good. I was starting to get bored. [ weren't you, rebekah? ]

It certainly wouldn't hurt to look into it.
easily: (adolescence doesn't make sense)

[Rebekah envies Elena, in a way. The older you are as a vampire the harder it is to turn off your humanity -- needless to say for one as old as Rebekah it's damn near impossible. She'd like to be emotionless, cold and hollowed out (sometimes, she feels that way anyways when she thinks of everything she's gone through after she awoke from her ninety year sleep, and everything that happened before that).

She wishes she could think of her brother's betrayals the way Elena seems to feel about her brother's death. You are not my sister, you are nothing. That she could be devoid, detached. It's something to aspire to.

But she feels. Rebekah feels and Rebekah's yearns and she still wants to find Katerina and find the cure and start over because god does her life right now just suck but for now? They search. They indulge (she'll give into her worst vampiric natures while searching for a way to become human again -- the irony isn't lost on her). And if they get a few more creeps out of the world in the process?

Mores the better.

She turns to glance over at the doppelganger, an unlikely companion for her and yet a fitting one, in strange ways.
]

You and me both. It's been days since we had proper excitement.

[Nope. She's just going to smirk at him before reaching for his hand.]

C'mon. We need to go back to the real world for this.

As would I. [She smirks a little.] Plus I'd love to see the look on my brother's face when he realizes it doesn't work anymore.

[He nods, taking her hand.]

I had a feeling that might be the case.

[They ditch their headgear and make their way back out into the real Mystic Falls again. Elena doesn't say much as she leads the way back to the Lockwood mansion, stopping in front of the door, so Tyler could read the plaque on the wall.

"Carol Lockwood Memorial Museum."]

His family lived here for a long time, but eventually his kids grew up and moved out so he wanted to do something with the house -- for her, and for you. The areas upstairs are still living areas -- they're safe, but the rest of it is all stuff about the history of the town, and all the old Founders things.

He knew how much she loved it.
lockwood: (a lot of feels)

[personal profile] lockwood 2013-03-19 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
[Tyler's quiet for a long moment as he just looks at the plaque, letting his fingers trace over them. It seems fitting, considering how much his mother loved this town and it's history. Of course Matt of all people would remember that.

Tyler had sent Matt packages and letters once every couple of years or so, to make sure his friend knew he was still alive -- so he could pass on that to Caroline and the others. Eventually, he had gotten a letter back from one of the kids when Matt passed away.

He was sad he couldn't come to the funeral. That he never got to meet those kids, or see the woman Matt married. Tyler may have escaped with his life -- but he lost a whole lot more.

Finally he lets out a breathe, a long moment having passed.
]

She would have liked that.

She'd be glad all that history wasn't just lost. It was important to her.

[A hundred years hasn't made the loss of his mother easier on him, the guilt that came with it -- if he could have only done better, maybe she could have lived out the rest of her natural life.

But that wasn't in the cards.
