an atypical celebration
Lilah hadn't been home for long, so far. She had never been the type of woman to take Valentine's Day off and try to rush home and have dinner plans or something else equally mushy and nauseating. She never saw the point. Besides, you'd be surprised at how many bitter lovers contacted an evil law firm for this holiday. It was one of their busiest days of the year.
Still, she was home now, and changed out of her suit, pulling on a silken robe. She didn't expect to see Wesley tonight. They didn't typically spend days like today together. It wasn't how they did things.
Of course, she did get word before she left the office that he had killed one of her clients. She supposed that was almost romantic, in it's own way.
She had been in her bathroom, about to fill up a bath for herself when she heard the knock on her door. Surprising, but she had an idea who it was. Not too many people came to her apartment. Not too many people knew where her apartment was.
She made her way to the door, smirking as she saw Wesley there. Holding a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates.
"And here I thought I wouldn't get anything today."

"I thought we should celebrate. Isn't it what typical people do on Valentine's?" It was said with a mocking tone and it was obvious from his demeanour that he had no intention of getting into the sentimental spirit of the day. Love wasn't on the table. It never had been.
The wine he had chosen wasn't champagne, either. It was an expensive Syrah instead.

"If I had known you were coming over, I would have worn something more appropriate," She mused with another smirk. Because since when had she ever been particularly appropriate?

The truth was, he had an ulterior motive for visiting Lilah that night. He tossed the chocolates onto the couch. They were Belgian and supposed to be good, but he'd just grabbed whatever the store clerk had pointed him towards.
No, the real celebration was going to be in how he'd bested her for once.
Heading straight for the kitchen area he searched for the wine opener.

Of course, she had a suspicion of why he might be here. No doubt he wanted to brag a little bit about taking out one of her clients. She'd let him have fun for once before busting his chops.
She followed him into the kitchen, pulling out the wine opener and handing it to him.
no subject
He accepts the wine opener, uses it to nudge the edge of her robe open for a moment. But then he turns and proceeds to open the wine and pour them both two generous glasses full.
"Busy day at the office?"
no subject
Still, she grinned as he nudged her robe open in a way that suggested she didn't object to wearing less quicker.
"Quite. Seems a lot of scorned lovers were looking into what services our firm could offer them today."
She took one of the glasses from him, taking a long drink from it.
no subject
"We should have a toast. To scorned lovers."
Wes raises his glass to her in a cynical salute.
no subject
"To scorned lovers."
The words are said almost joyfully as she brings the glass back to her lips for another drink.
no subject
"No other incidents at work?"
Surely she had to know by now. How she'd lost an important wealthy client. Of course, the client question had been known for how he tortured, raped and skinned his female victims. Not always in that order.
As soon as he'd heard Lilah mention a Horzuk demon on one of the late night calls he'd eavesdropped on, he'd dug further and found out just how despicable Fural was. It had taken some doing and a lot of planning, but he and his people had finally taken him out.

But Fural had become a liability. He was drawing too much attention to himself, and not paying nearly enough to make it worth her while. She had thought about taking care of it herself, sending someone after him, but instead it had seemed like more fun to set it up so Wesley would take care of it for her.
"Come to think of it," She said, bringing a finger up to tip her chin, as if she was actually thinking of something. "I do remember hearing something about a client of mine dying. You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you?"
no subject
no subject
"He was sloppy. A liability. So I do agree with you on the whole needing to be taken down thing." She grinned, much like a cat that had swallowed the canary. "Luckily for me, you've already taken care of that for me."
no subject
"You allowed me to hear you take that call. You used me to clean up your mess, so that you had deniability with the Senior Partners." There was no questioning inflection, the conclusions he came to were in no need of confirmation. "Nicely played. How wonderfully calculating of you to trust me to get the job done. What if I hadn't?"
no subject
"If you hadn't done it, I would have figured something else out. I'm very resourceful."
no subject
"You could have just asked."
no subject
"Would you have done it if I had just asked you?"
She couldn't imagine he would. They didn't go around doing favors for one another. They didn't help each other. It wasn't their style. It wasn't how they operated with one another.
no subject
"I guess we'll never know."
He set the half-empty glass back down on the counter. His celebration hadn't gone quite as planned. Was there really any other reason to stay?
"Enjoy your evening, Lilah."
no subject
Still, she kept her mask on as always as she made her way towards him, wrapping her arms around him so she was pressing against him from behind.
"C'mon, lover," She purred into his ears. "It wouldn't be nearly as much fun if we just asked each other for things."
no subject
"I'm not half as good as you are at subterfuge. You have me at a disadvantage. But, seeing as how I just did you a favour, unwitting or not--"
Swiveling around quickly, he grabbed at her wrists and pulled her tightly against him.
"Perhaps I still warrant some thanks."
no subject
She smirked, lifting her head up so that her gaze met his. "I suppose you have earned yourself some gratitude. You did save me a lot of trouble, after all."

"I think it's my turn. Don't you?"

What Lilah will see, is the fact that there are bruises forming on his flesh. Minor cuts and abrasions. One particularly nasty scrape across a shoulder. If she'd ever doubted that he'd helped take care of the Fural problem personally, she now has her confirmation.
no subject
"You really took a beating for me today, didn't you?"
She formed her words like that on purpose, reminding him that even though she was submitting to his wishes right now, she had still maneuvered things into her favor. Any power he had over her was power she gave to him.
Her hand slid down to brush itself against his erection. Her tongue darted out, licking her lips as she prolonged her actions a little, teasing him before finally leaning in to take him into her mouth.
no subject
"I didn't do it for you, Lilah." He felt compelled to point out. Although, if she'd asked him to? It was possible he would have. But that was also a part of their ongoing game with each other. Denying any kind of emotional attachment. After all, to admit to it would be both foolish and dangerous.
He repressed the shudder of pleasure which ran through his body when her hand caressed his cock. Tried not to show how it affected him. His breath caught in his throat, however, when she finally leaned forward and took him between her parted lips. God, yes. He reached back to steady himself against the kitchen counter.
no subject
She let one of her hands rest on his thigh, her nails digging into his skin a little as her mouth moved around his cock. She let it slip almost completely out before thrusting it back in, her eyes looking up and watching him and his reactions all the while.
no subject
Still, he kept up the game, his gaze dark and smoldering as he looked down at her. She was in a submissive position, but they both knew the truth. A teasing swirl or flick of her tongue was all that was needed to make him utterly weak at the knees. The sensation of her nails scratching down his thigh made him tense even more. His grip on the counter tightened in proportion to how much more ragged his breaths were now becoming.
no subject
She continued to graze her tongue over his length, hollowing her mouth as she continued to move her mouth up and down him. He usually stopped her after a while, wanting to fuck her, but today she was in the mood to watch him completely come undone.

The knees were beginning to ache from kneeling down on the hard tiled floor of her kitchen, but she tried to ignore it as she continued her ministrations, watching as he slowly lost more and more control.
no subject
"All right, that's enough." He murmured between breathless gasps.
no subject
"But I'm not done yet," She quipped, looking up at him. She could see he was close now, just barely holding onto his last strands of control. It wouldn't take much more to push him over the edge.
And with that in mind she leaned in, taking him into her mouth again.
