Open Post the Sequel

how to play.

1. Drop a comment with one or more of your muses. It can be empty if you want me to make a scenario, or you can toss one at me. If you want to just give me a prompt (a word, song, lyric, picture, phrase, anything), I can riff off that too.
2. In the subject line, you can specify any of my muses you might want to play with, or you can ask me to pick someone.
3. just rp with me. if something jives really well, maybe we can continue it in another one of these later, sort of like a super casual verse. if it doesn't, it doesn't.

The Argents have always moved around a lot. After Allison's brush with the dark side her father decides they need a new change of pace. They spend four months in France -- but they never return to Beacon Hills. Instead he moves them into a small town in Virginia, Mystic Falls. Allison misses Lydia and Scott the most but she copes. She's been the new girl a million times before, she can do it again.

The thing is, Mystic Falls is as strange as Beacon Hills had been, if not more so. Things happen here she can't explain. People die. And it's not wolves -- it's different. It scares her, like when she first was trying to piece everything together.

It makes her feel powerless. She hates that feeling.

Which is why she's snuck out to the woods to practice and train, just in case. She promised her father she wouldn't hunt anymore -- but how can she can pretend like it doesn't matter? How can she turn a blind eye when dead bodies keep piling up and she could do something about it?

She can't.

Which is why she's currently aiming one of her arrows at a tree. The plus side of having a father who's cover is being a private arms dealer is that all of her equipment is military grade. Which has come in handy.

She's not aware of anyone else out here -- she's a little too focused on releasing that arrow, a satisfied smile spreading across her lips as it hits exactly where she means it to.

[OOC: it is sill me, i had to get a new journal for him :x cause my other ran out of paid time]

Jeremy is not really expecting someone else to be out in the woods firing arrows. He's come with his crossbow out into the woods. People don't go out here very often, but he likes to train out here especially because people don't go out here often. He was nearly killed. Alaric died in his place, and they tried to compel him but he had extra vervain right after nearly dying in the street.

So suffice to say, he trusts no one more than ever before. Elena betrayed him. Again. He'll never forgive her, never stop ingesting and wearing vervain in multitudes. Definitely not the people that he's living with, definitely not his sister. So he rarely goes home, stays out as much as he can.

"Nice shot," Jeremy comments quietly, tiredly from his spot behind her, lifting up his eyebrows, crossbow in hand but lowered to his side to show he's not here to shoot her.

He just wants to shoot.

Everyone lies. Allison's learned that many times over. Even the people you care about the most -- sometimes especially then. Even now she doesn't know the full truth of the night her mother died, of why Derek had bit her in the first place -- maybe it's better that way.

Needless to say though, it's easy to sneak out, to train when she's not supposed to, when she promised her father she wouldn't anymore. She doesn't really expect anyone else to be out her -- which is why she turns around sharply at the tired voice.

She vaguely recognizes him from the halls of the school. She slowly lowers her bow, hoping she didn't come off as too hostile.

"Thanks."

Jeremy is not really used to other people outside of his circle being as paranoid and as guard as he can be, but he doesn't think anything of her whirling around with the boy in hand. He stands there where he is without making a move, without even raising his hands up like he probably should.

Sometimes recklessness sticks to your rib cage, and it's heavy.

"You're new at school, right? I haven't... been paying much attention there. Probably why my grades are shit."

They've been shit since his parents died.

It's hard not to be paranoid at this point. She's been caught off guard too many times -- left feeling afraid and powerless, weak. She doesn't want to ever feel that way again.

It's that basic survival instinct that keeps her going, someday.

She nods a little.

"My dad and I just moved in from California."

After her mom died and everything went to hell. And her father decided she couldn't be in Beacon Hills anymore -- like taking her away would somehow easily fix everything else.

It's almost refreshing -- in a way -- that he didn't notice. Changing schools in the middle of the year has often brought her more attention than she ever wanted.

Jeremy is so familiar with that feeling of being powerless, weak, afraid. Every moment that he pours into training, it's a moment that makes him that much stronger so maybe next time-- Maybe next time he won't feel like that.

He'll be in control. He'll be able to stop someone from dying. It's useless, but it's all he has.

"Welcome to Mystic Falls," he says with a slow, cautious smirk, keeping the crossbow in hand though it's still pointed down. "I'm Jeremy, and this place kind of sucks. Sorry to be the one to break the news to you."

He doesn't mention his last name if only because the baggage that comes with being a Gilbert. Dead parents, dead people all around them.

Maybe next time, she can stop someone from dying, from things getting so out of hand. She can stop things before she gets packed into a corner and feels like there's only one choice she can make. The choice to fight back.

(The Argents are vicious, they can be brutal -- Allison wants to be more than that."

She actually laughs a little at that, though it's not particularly funny. "I'm not sure you can do worse than Beacon Hills." Little does she know if there's one town that can, it's this one.

"I'm Allison. Allison Argent."

The nice thing about a new town is her name has no meaning here. No one knows about her Aunt who killed the whole Hale family in a fire, no one knows about her mother who killed herself. That stigma, the whispers that came with it, it's gone.
