how to play.

1. Drop a comment with one or more of your muses. It can be empty if you want me to make a scenario, or you can toss one at me. If you want to just give me a prompt (a word, song, lyric, picture, phrase, anything), I can riff off that too.
2. In the subject line, you can specify any of my muses you might want to play with, or you can ask me to pick someone.
3. just rp with me. if something jives really well, maybe we can continue it in another one of these later, sort of like a super casual verse. if it doesn't, it doesn't.

In essence, he had. So much had happened and eventually disappearing had become the best option he had. He'd been working with Claude, using his invisibility far more than he should have. It was nice to see someone that didn't think he was crazy or didn't blame him for anything that had happened or would happen.

"Good. I mean...it's nice to see you again."

He shoves his hands in his pockets, glancing around. "Did you--do you want to get some coffee?"

"It's nice to see you too."

And it is. She doesn't know a lot of people in New York -- which has both it's advantages and disadvantages. There's no preconceived notions about her here, but it's also rather lonely.

Which is why she nods at his question. "Sure. I'd love to."

Peter grins at her agreement to have coffee. He's dealing with his own share of loneliness because he's been spending most of his time with a cranky, homeless guy that likes beating on him with some kind of staff. Really, Rebekah's company is so much better.

"Great. Uhm.." he pushes his bangs out of his eyes. "There's--it's right around the corner if you wanna..." he starts in that direction, all awkward and good hearted.

She grins at his offer. It's kind of adorable, like a startled puppy. Certainly endearing enough that she easily follows him as he heads in the right direction.

In a city so large the chances of running into one another had been slim -- she likes those odds.

Startled puppy is actually a very good description for Peter. So is endearing. He's one of those guys that are hard to dislike because he's sincere and goofy and a little unsure of himself. He's such a little kid in some ways.

"So what've you been doing?" he asks, pushing his bangs back from his face.

They kind of are good odds.

"A little bit of everything."

She goes out to bars, she's seen a few plays, shops, finds various other things to do to fill her hours. Anything to distract herself from how alone she is in this big city.

"Alone?"

He's curious. She's pretty enough that she never has to do anything alone. She's interesting and fun . He wouldn't be surprised if there were someone here with her. In fact, he glances around to make sure there's no one waiting on her.

She nods a little. "Alone. I don't really know anyone here." And making friends has never exactly been her strong point -- not real friends. People she's compelled to hang out with her? Easier but more lonely.

Peter nods a little. "Well now you've got a tour guide."

Not that she needs one. She probably gets around New York City just fine, but at least now she doesn't have to be alone, not if she doesn't want to be.

Rebekah smiles a little at that. "I do, don't I?"

Not that she can't figure out her own way around -- but Rebekah's never really liked being alone very much.

"Coffee first," he says as they approach the coffee shop. He holds the door open for her.

"Anything you want to see after that?"

"I've been meaning to check out the Met."

Rebekah likes museums, likes art and culture. It seems like a good start.

"Yeah?" Peter responds with a goofy grin. "I think we can check out the Met. I don't have anything else on my schedule today."

You know, besides being beaten with a staff or thrown off a roof. He's good.

"Lucky me, then."

Going to a museum with a pretty girl definitely beats being thrown off roofs.

"Are you hungry? Do you want to grab something to eat before or after or there's a cafe at the Met..."

"A cafe works. I could go for some coffee." Not that she really needs human food, but it does help curb the cravings.

"Okay. Right," he nods. They'd been headed that way anyway, so that works. Mostly he's just nervous because she did disappear so suddnely last time.

"So what have you been doing?"

[easily]

"Alright, for the most part. Still settling into the city. And yourself?"

Hopefully this time she won't disappear quite so suddenly -- not that she usually has much say in the matter.

He shakes his head a bit. "Weird. Everything is...messed up." He glances over to Rebekah. "I'm sort of hiding from my family."

By sort of, he means that this is the first time he's been visible in public in a while.

"So am I," She admits softly. "It's part of why I'm here."

Because the Mikaelsons make the Petrellis look functional.

Peter crooks a smile at her. "Guess we can hide together."

Indeed they do, which Peter won't believe is possible at first.

She smiles a little. "Guess so."

Prepare to be surprised, Peter.

Her response makes him grin. Once they arrive at the coffee shop, Peter holds the door for Rebekah and approaches the counter. He orders a black coffee then looks to her.

"What did you want?"

Surprises are good.

"A latte should be fine."

Sometimes they can be. Fun, even, depending on the surprise.

Peter orders that as well and pays for it, then turns to look for a seat. He reaches out to put his hand at the small of her back and guide her toward a table near the back.
