OPEN SHIP WITH ME POST

I'm in a very shippy mood and mostly on top of my tags right now so I thought instead of combing through memes I'd leave this as an open post.
Basically leave me prompts: quotes, pictures, song lyrics, whatever with a muse and what muse of mine you want and we'll see what happens. Alternately, if you don't request a specific muse you can leave it up to me to choose who i throw at them.
I make no apologies for the choices made when that happens.
So please, come and enjoy all the ships with me!!

"It's fine," he says, dismissing her attempt at making this her fault. "You were in a hurry. I would've done the same."
No he wouldn't, because he was incapable of being late. He was a perfectionist, worse than her friend Ami in many ways, but Usagi had no way of knowing that. The girl barely knew him, and it was shocking at times to realize how little they knew about one another when it felt like he's known her

He wouldn't do the same. She doesn't know how she knows that, she knows so little about him when it really comes down to it, and yet she knows somehow that he wouldn't do that. He'd more careful, more observant than she tends to be when she hurries. He lacks the obliviousness that blinds her sometimes -- that her friends tease her gently about.
"They aren't ruined, are they?" They look pretty dirty -- but maybe it's salvageable? She hopes so.

Maybe. One of them looks like the last few chapters are completely saturated in dark, muddy water, but the others look like they just need to be aired out.
But he doesn't care. Maybe he'll be frustrated with the books later, but not with her. Somehow, he can't fathom being cross with her, especially over something so trivial as a set of textbooks when their lives are far more complicated. They have evil forces to contend with. What right does he have to be angry over books when he ought to be lucky they both still have their lives to live after all the near death experiences they've had.
"They just need to air out."
He stands, finally, shaking the books out one by one to the side, careful not to splash any mud on her.

She smiles a little more easily at that. She's not sure why it's so important that she hasn't offended or upset him -- she barely knows him after all. And they both have to deal with things much worse than just running into someone or ruining some books.
And the idea of him being angry with her makes her chest ache in ways she can't explain or quantify. How did it get this bad so quickly? Did it happen when she wasn't noticing?

Mamoru gathers his books back up after he's shaken them all out, tucking them under one arm at his side. He pushes his glasses back up the bridge of his nose with his other hand, though he peers down at her from over the top of their rims.
"Where were you going in such a hurry?"
no subject
"I'm meeting some of my friends at the arcade."
no subject
"I'll walk you with you."
He wasn't going in that direction. He should've parted ways with her there and headed to the library to study for tomorrow's test, but instead he's heading in the opposite direction towards an arcade of all things. He doesn't play video games, doesn't see the point in them.
no subject
"I'd like that."
no subject
Mamoru, however, doesn't seem to notice any of them. Or if he does, he's deliberately ignoring them.
"You like video games."
It's not a question. He's paying close attention to the little things he's learning about her, filing all the details away for later as if he'll have future use for them.
no subject
Her smile brightens at the statement and she nods her head rather enthusiastically.
"I love video games. My favorite is the Sailor V game." Which sometimes almost seems to be sentient and trying to help train her but she's not going to say that part out loud because doesn't that sound kind of crazy.
no subject
"Sailor V?"
The name sounds familiar, somehow. Was Sailor V a senshi who'd yet to make the scene or someone else entirely? And, on that note, why did she have her own video game?
no subject
She nods a little.
"She used to be in the news a lot -- though not as much lately."
She wonders sometimes if that's on purpose. Part of her kind of hopes she gets to meet the actual Sailor V someday. She seems pretty cool.
no subject
"Now it's you."
He's seen distant, shaky photographs of Sailor Moon on the front page of newspapers, taken by some brave soul who was foolish enough to get too close to a very dangerous situation.
no subject
Maybe it's silly, but she still wants to meet Sailor V someday. She just seems so cool. It seems so easy with her, the way it never feels easy for Usagi.
no subject
Though they both know that it's more a case of him being so good at that stealth thing that any photographers or reporters in the vicinity likely had no idea he was even there. He hangs back unless she needs him, fully confident in her ability to handle a situation without needing his help all the time.
"You think she's one of yours?" A senshi like Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter.
no subject
Which she isn't sure what to make of that, honestly. She smiles a little to herself.
"I want her to be, though."
She feels like she would be a good ally. They can use as many of those as possible.
no subject
"You could use another person on your side," he offers, as if reading her thoughts.
no subject
"It would be nice. We could use all the help we can get."
Luna tells her she needs to be the leader now. She has to find the Princess and protect her. It sounds like too much -- Usagi isn't quite sure she can handle a task this big.
no subject
"Help you can trust."
Since it's clear that her feline adviser and the other senshi don't trust him. Mamoru doesn't even trust himself half the time. What person blacks out and finds themselves on the clear other side of town? For all he knows, he could be taking part in dastardly deeds without realizing it and Luna's been right about him all along.
"I'm sorry I can't be that person."
no subject
It comes out without thinking. Maybe it's foolish, maybe she shouldn't but she does trust him. She doesn't have any rhyme or reason to why she does -- she simply does.
"But Sailor V...she's been doing this longer than I have. It would be nice to have someone with more experience around."
Maybe take some of that weight off her shoulders. She's not sure she can be the leader she needs to be.
no subject
He says it without malice. He doesn't blame them, doesn't hold it against them. There are times when he doesn't trust himself.
"Yes, it would. And she may know something about the enemy that we don't. She could be a valuable asset to this world."
no subject
But whether she should or not, she does. She can't help it.
She nods her head emphatically. "She could be. It's hard to explain but I feel like I'm supposed to meet her, you know?"
no subject
He'll admit that to her. He hasn't exactly broached that topic with her, but he's compelled to let her know that even he isn't sure. Were he more confident in his standing, he would've protested her feline mentor's suspicions, but her cause for concern is just when Mamoru doesn't know whether he can trust himself some days.
no subject
The words come out firmly, as if she's very sure of that. Usagi feels sure of it anyway. Maybe she shouldn't, but she does.

Worry seeps into his voice, his own self-doubt shining through that cool exterior.
