I'm in a very shippy mood and mostly on top of my tags right now so I thought instead of combing through memes I'd leave this as an open post.

Basically leave me prompts: quotes, pictures, song lyrics, whatever with a muse and what muse of mine you want and we'll see what happens. Alternately, if you don't request a specific muse you can leave it up to me to choose who i throw at them.

I make no apologies for the choices made when that happens.

"Yeah. Logically, I understand that." Emotionally, all he wants is his brother back. And vampires always are more emotional than logical. "I just ... I've spent a hundred and sixty years with him hovering over my shoulder. I'm not sure how to deal with him being gone."

[visiongirl]

"It's going to take some time to figure that out. You don't have to know just yet."

Grief is difficult, no matter what. She may be an only child, but she can still understand that. It had hurt acutely when Doyle died.

He nods a bit at that, before forcing a small smile. It doesn't quite meet his eyes, but he's tired of being depressing. "Anyway. Enough about my sob story. What's been going on with you?"

[visiongirl]

"It's not exactly better, I woke up from a coma recently."

So a sob story of her own, sorta.

He tips his head towards the side for a moment, because that is far more concerning than his dead brother. "What happened? Are you okay?" Why didn't anyone call him? is the silent question he can't help but ask, and he knows the reasons why, but he still wants to think he could have helped her sooner.

[visiongirl]

"As okay as someone can be. The short version is I got taken over by a crazy higher power who then impregnated me with herself -- don't ask me how that one works -- and after birthing I slipped into comaland. I remember everything though."

That's the hard part, living with what Jasmine did in her body.

Stefan's face slowly gets more and more horrified the more she talks, and in some ways he can understand it. All the things he did when his humanity was off often felt like it was someone else, taking control of his actions, and maybe that would be an easy way to explain it away and live with the guilt but he knows that he can't. Even if her emotions were off, it was still him.

"I'm sorry," he says gently. "That sounds ... awful."

[visiongirl]

"Yeah, it wasn't exactly a walk in the park." Sometimes she's surprised she was able to wake up at all after all that. And sometimes, she almost wishes she hadn't. But that's not something she tends to verbalize.

[somanyadjectives]

"Yeah, well ... welcome to the supernatural. None of us ever make it out clean." Stefan wishes that some of them could, to make all of their lives easier, but that's not the way the world works.

[visiongirl]

"Please, I learned that by the end of my high school career." Going to high school on top of a hell mouth will do that.

[somanyadjectives]

He laughs. "I have a feeling that people in Mystic Falls will probably feel the same way by the time they're done."

[visiongirl]

"I can't decide if Mystic Falls is worse or better on the luck scale than Sunnydale -- better probably in that it hasn't been swallowed whole yet -- one of the many things I apparently missed during comatime."

[somanyadjectives]

"We may not have been swallowed whole, but we are bound to be sooner or later." He pauses for a moment, before tipping his head to the side. "It might be better if it did, though. Might save a lot of people a lot of pain."

[visiongirl]

"Maybe. But they might just find it somewhere else. There are always places that attract trouble." Or people who do. Or both.

[somanyadjectives]

He chuckles softly before nodding. "Ain't that the truth. No matter how far you run, it will always find a way to pull you back in again once you've become a part of this world."

[visiongirl]

"Pretty much. I thought Los Angeles would be my out." She lets out a low laugh at that. "Boy was I wrong."

[somanyadjectives]

He smirks softly at that. "Once you're in, I don't think you can ever really get out. It's like ... once you know it's out there, you can't stop seeing it."

[visiongirl]

"Nope. Even when you really, really want to."

And boy had she wanted to when she left Los Angeles.

He nods in agreement. "Someone has to make sure it stays hidden from everyone else, right? Even if it might be better for them to know the truth?"

[visiongirl]

"Even then. You'd be be amazed at how many people will believe anything to not have to confront these truths."

[somanyadjectives]

"They want to rationalize it away and pretend the world isn't as scary as it actually is. It ... sucks, but in some ways I don't blame them. If I was oblivious to the supernatural, I'm not sure I'd want to be confronted with it either."

[visiongirl]

"It's not easy, coming to grips with it. I was kidnapped a bunch of times before I really admitted what was going on -- and one time the person kidnapping me was invisible."

People see -- or don't see-- what they want to sometimes.

He smirks a bit. "Unfortunately for me I was given .... irrefutable proof. I wasn't really allowed the bliss of denial." Becoming a vampire after being compelled by one doesn't really allow you the chance to process things the way you would like to.

[visiongirl]

"That'll do it. Eventually too many things added up for me to deny it anymore -- I ended up biting a vampire back just so he'd see how it felt."

[somanyadjectives]

That actually makes him laugh, because it's absolutely something he can see her doing. "How'd that go?"
