It's fine. He's made his choice. He can't just go back to his life and pretend like nothing happened. Like his pack isn't dead. Like his mother isn't dead. Klaus still has power over him. He's always going to. This freedom is conditional. He can't live like that, on Klaus' terms.
Which is why he's set up camping in the bayou to try to figure out a plan when he sniffs the air, scenting a familiar wolf.

She doesn't have to call back and find out who the hybrid is. She knows enough about what's going on in New Orleans right now to know that there's only one real possibility.
She sighs as she steps out of the trees, arms crossed in front of her chest as she stares him down, clearly not happy with his current location. "What the hell are you doing?"

It's a lesson Cora's learned the hard way, time and again, constantly railing at people that are more powerful than she is. Because when someone knocks you down after every plan you try, you can't keep going at him the same way. You need to take a step back and try something different.
