Not even Marcel comes to see Davina after Kol dies. She gets it. People are busy. But it still stings. She holes herself up trying to find a way to bring him back. Her determination borderlines on obsession.

Which is why it surprises here when she hears a knock on the door. She places down her spell book to make her way over to the door, opening it.

"Cami?" She's surprised to see her. "Why are you here?"

Cami tips her head to the side, looking at Davina like "c'mon, what do you think?" She knows her failings and she knows the ways she could have done better with regards to Davina's situation, but she's here now. She's not planning on making excuses - even if trying to treat an Original vampire with a thousand years of PTSD is a pretty damn good excuse, if she were making them - she's just going to be here for Davina.

"I know I have been pretty much the worst friend in existence as of late, and for that I'm super sorry but I am here now for hugs and talking and mostly hugging." Her face softens a bit and she reaches for her, holding her arms out for her to come into. Or, alternatively, giving her the opportunity to yell if she needs it.

Davina smiles a little weakly at that. It's not that she doesn't know there are important things going on, she just wishes like what she's going through was one of them to someone, you know? She reaches out to hug her friend tightly.

Hugs are nice.

They are very nice. Cami exhales slowly as she pulls her in, closing her eyes as one hand rests against her back and the other strokes the back of her head. Rebekah had been right in saying that the girls had to stick together against the Mikaelsons and their little boys club, but it's always so much harder to beat back than you want it to be. Especially when it comes to Klaus.

"I'm sorry about Kol."

"Thank you."

It's been hard, trying to deal with the loss again. It's the first time in a long time she's allowed herself to get close to someone new -- and she lost him too.

It's been good for her to open herself up to someone. Cami knows that when Davina feels like she can't trust anyone she withdraws even more, especially after isolating herself from the covens, and it was in those ways that Kol had been good for her. Losing him was all the more devastating for it.

"Wanna talk about it?"

"I just miss him so much," She admits softly. "It was nice having someone I could trust again. Someone who I could do magic with and liked me and now he's just -- gone and no one seems to care but me"

"They care," Cami says with a slow nod. "It's all Rebekah talks about sometimes, getting better at magic so that she can bring him back. But they also have ... a lot of other family problems on their hands at the moment. I guess they figure that they can beat Dahlia first - it's not like Kol is going anywhere."

Which doesn't make it better, but it is at least something that makes sense.

"No, but that doesn't make it okay to make him wait. To act like his death doesn't even matter. He could help us take down Dahlia, he's a better witch than me or Rebekah."

This much Davina was certain on.

Cami nods slowly, because maybe she's right. Eventually she moves them to sit down on the couch so that they're not just standing there forever, shifting so that Davina can curl up next to her if she wants.

"I guess when you've seen as much death as they have, it's hard to prioritize the dead over the living."
