Davina knows who it is before she introduces herself. It's not hard to hear the whispers of the Originals' powerful witch sister. Rumors pass by in New Orleans easy. Still she tenses, unlikely to trust Freya anymore than she would Klaus. She's probably here to use her.

She's so tired of being used.

"What do you want?"

Freya knows she has no reason to trust her. She's come to expect it in New Orleans - every helping hand she's offered is met with nothing but scorn and disdain, every time she tries to prove her worth she finds it slapped back in her face again. She came so far and fought so hard to find her family, only to have the only person who treated her like family ripped away from her again.

Every sacrifice she continues to make are sacrifices she never agreed to give, and she's sick of it.

Still, Davina is not her family. She keeps her distance on her approach, knowing that Davina is powerful in her own right, and she doesn't want to anger her. She just wants to feel like there's a part of her family she's allowed to have.

"I ... " She pauses for a moment, trying to form her words carefully and make sure that her meaning is clear. "Rebekah tells me you and Kol were close. I was hoping that you would speak with me about him. None of them will." "Them" being the rest of the Originals, seeing her as adjacent to his demise even though that was Finn losing his temper and getting reckless, more than anything of Freya's doing.

"What do you want to know about him?"

Davina's voice is cool and even. Cautious. It's not that she doesn't trust Freya so much as she doesn't trust anyone.

A subtle but important difference.

It is an important difference. Freya doesn't blame her for trusting no one - there are very few people in this world worth being trusted. She pauses for a moment before making her way a little further into the crypt, brushing over the ingredients.

"What was he like? We met once, back in 1914, but we didn't really have the chance to know each other."

"He was honest, which is more than can be said about the rest of your family. He may have had his own plans but he didn't lie about them." At least not to her, which is what matters.

That would be the part that matters, after all. "Honesty is hard to come by in our family." She can admit that much at least. "We didn't have the best examples to learn from - from what I understand they even taught us how to lie to ourselves."

"So I've heard. I've only interacted much with your dad. Not one of my wiser choices."

Only because Mikael found a way to get free before she could kill Klaus.

Freya pauses for a moment, before shaking her head. "My father wasn't always a monster. There was a time when I remember him being gentle and kind to his children. But I'm told that after I was taken he became ... someone else."

"Yeah, losing people makes you different." She knows it has for her. Every person Klaus has taken from her just makes her angerier and angerier. She doesn't always know what to do with it.

It's an anger that Freya knows all too well. Her anger at her mother and at Dahlia has driven her to things that have twisted her so far from he girl she wanted to be that she can't help but see herself as a monster.

"It's a part of you that you can never get back."
