Malia has Stiles and she doesn't always read people as well as she should, so it doesn't occur to her that people might also be showing an interest in her in that way. She's just happy to have found the same in Violet, a girl who doesn't sigh when she says something that isn't quite human or doesn't find her odd idiosyncrasies all that odd. As much as Kira and Lydia try, they're still trying to get her to be more human.

Malia doesn't really want to be human. Being human sucks. A lot.

She crosses her legs in her chair as she shovels down her pizza before pulling back to glance over to her friend. "Do you have to take math?"

"I do. It's not like the math I took before."

Violet's never gone to formal schooling before. Her pack had homeschooled her before she left it. So to say she's a little out of her league is an understatement.

"Do you want to work on it together?"

"Sure." Malia could use all the help with math that she can get, and maybe between the two of them and Lydia's notes, they'll be able to sort it out together - at least enough to pass. "Lydia's gonna get me her notes from the last class, so that should help."

"It'll be a start." Sometimes it was hard to make sense of Lydia's notes, but it was something. Better than trying to figure it out on her own.

Malia's experience with Lydia's notes is up and down, but when they're actually math and not banshee jibberish, they're pretty good. Malia still hates math, but at least she's using more yellow instead of red.

"I just want to pass. She told me if you fail they make you take it again and I do not want to do it again."

[wolfborn]

"They make you do it again?" Violet wrinkles her nose in annoyance at that thought.

"I don't want to do it again either. So we better pass, I guess."

[wildkingdom]

"Yeah." She taps her fork against her plate for a moment. "Maybe Stiles could help us too? He's usually pretty good at making it sound simple."

[wolfborn]

She finds herself frowning for a second at the mention of Stiles before shaking it off. "Sure. That'd be fine, I guess."

Malia frowns in return, her forehead wrinkling at the way Vi doesn't seem happy for the extra help. "What's wrong?"
