Isaac and Erica made a choice, and none of his pack had ever killed anyone. Just because they're predators doesn't mean they have to be killers, which is something that hunters have never really understood. The act of taking someone's life is a choice and not something that Derek takes lightly, despite the fact that it was his solution for threats to his pack not that long ago.

In fact, the only killer in the Derek's pack is Derek himself, and in both of those instances, he had his reasons.

Also, Scott and Stiles disturbed his sister's grave in their determination to stick their nose into things they didn't understand and then got him arrested for her murder. He thinks he's a little justified with treating them with a little less charity than he did everyone else.

"Different cultures have different rituals and procedures. The nogitsune is Japanese so I've been going through some of the records my mom kept. There's another alpha in the area who's from Japan that my mom was friends with, so I was trying to see if she might have given my mother something that may be able to help."

Everyone has their justifications and biases, and it's something drives both Allison and Derek's distrust towards one another. Isaac and Erica may never have killed anyone but Allison had heard them gleefully talking about how they were going to kill Lydia. Her best friend. So she's not justifying what she's done but they weren't exactly innocents either.

No one in Beacon Hills is.

"My dad spent some time working with Japanese businessmen when he was younger-- he might know something too."

"Do you know if they've encountered a nogitsune before?" If they have, it might be something worth pursuing. Never mind the fact that they may simply know the ritual better than they do, but if they've at least dealt with one, that means they might at least know what doesn't work.

"Not offhand, I can ask him." There's lots of her dad's history she doesn't know about, to be really honest.

Derek nods. "And I'll see if I can track down Satomi. She doesn't get to be one of the oldest alphas in the world by making herself easy to find."

"And once we've done that we can touch base again."

Derek nods in agreement. "Definitely sounds easy enough." But he also knows that it won't be. Finding information on this thing isn't going to be easy, especially if there was nothing in Peter's laptop about nogitsunes.

"Easier said then done, I'm sure." Because nothing is ever that easy. If the beastiary doesn't have information on he nogitsune -- well that'll put her back a bit.

Derek nods in agreement. "Most things like this usually are. Especially considering we usually spend most of this making it up as we go."
