She nods. She ain't going to say no to the company of a hot guy in a suit. "Sure."

Elijah moves smoothly to take the seat across from her, crossing one leg in front of him as he does. "If you insist on staying in the Quarter for the foreseeable future, you should at least go where there is safety in numbers. There is a vampire across the river named Marcel Gerard. He is gathering a ... colony of sorts there, and he could use vampires with experience."

"Marcel? What is he the sheriff round these parts or somethin'? My maker usedta be the King of Louisana you know." Or maybe he didn't. He knows now.

His head tips to the side. He's been out of Louisiana for a while so he must have lost sight of the chain of command, but last he checked, he was very certain that the leader of Louisiana was a queen.

Not that he ever concerned himself with those kinds of vampire politics. He isn't the same kind of vampire, and an Original to boot. "I thought Sophie-Anne Leclerq was Queen of Louisiana?"

"She was, until Bill killed her."

It's said easily. She never knew Sophie-Anne but she had heard she was a real bitch.

Besides, it's kinda fun being like a vampire princess.

Elijah's eyebrows climb ever so slightly, before he tips his head to the side. "And I take it he had Eric Northman's support in doing so?" Because he can't imagine that it would have been left to lie otherwise.

She nods a little. "For once the two of 'em were on the same side. Don't happen too often, that."

"I can imagine," Elijah says with a nod. "Mr. Northman doesn't get along well with very many people, and he's easily one of the more powerful sheriffs in the region."

[cheeto]

"He and Bill 'specially don't get along cause they both like Sookie. But it don't matter because Bill and Sookie are soulmates, so Eric ain't got a chance anyway."

She can't help it, Bill is her maker, she's always going to be #teambill whether she should be or not.

Elijah tries to hide the amused smirk. "That seems like a story I am very familiar with. It seems there is always a pair of men content to waste their time in a pissing match over the love of a woman."

Never mind that he was one of those men once. But it's easy to be dismissive when at the time he was the victor.

"I 'spose it's something that happens a lot. I've had it happen to me -- it ain't always fun to be in the middle." Especially when Jason and Hoyt used to be best friends. What a mess she had made of that.

"No, I'm sure it isn't. Just as it isn't any fun to be on the outside of it either." It's frustrating and eventually you get tired of fighting. Love, in some ways, shouldn't be a fight. It's why Elijah chooses who he gives it to so carefully.

"No. I imagine it ain't fun for anyone involved -- or even not involved." Jessica grew up in a strict household that left her feeling more stifled than loved. She's a little desperate for it, in some ways.

He nods in agreement. "Still, while I always welcome an increase in our numbers, within reason, I would advise seeking shelter across the river when you need it." He reaches into his pocket for a pen, before pulling out a napkin and writing down an address.

"The leader there is named Marcel Gerard. He will give you a place to stay where you will be safe with others like us."

"He like the Sheriff around here?" Or at least that's what she assumes. She doesn't realize things work a little differently around here.

"In some ways, yes," Elijah says with a nod. "The vampire society here doesn't function in the same way as it does in the rest of Louisiana - we broke away from that a long time ago, considering we had such a high concentration of both werewolves and witches, but Marcel has been looking after the vampires in this city for well over three hundred years."

"That's impressive." To say the least. "I'll keep him in mind if I need anything." In case it ends up being as dangerous here as he says it is.

[claimstonobility]

"Good," he says with a nod, before he smiles - as much as Elijah ever smiles - and rises from his seat, casually buttoning his jacket as he does. "A pleasure, Miss Hamby."

"Likewise." And with that they'll part ways.
