[He picks up one of the quarters and bounces it, it landing into the shot glass rather easily.]

[Bo picks up her glass to down the shot, before taking the quarter to take her turn. It takes her a moment to aim, but eventually she does the same.]

Play this a lot back home?

[lockwood]

[He nods and downs the shot.]

Yeah. I used to host a lot of parties. We had a lot of land, and usually a lot of booze.

So drinking games to past the time?

[lockwood]

Pretty much. It's not the worst way to pass a party.

[dontkanyeme]

[She nods]

Drinking is a more recent thing for me. Before I had control, me lowering my inhibitions tended to end ... badly.

[lockwood]

I can imagine.

I drank a lot when I was younger -- that combined with werewolf rage issues wasn't always pretty.

[dontkanyeme]

How did that work? I mean -- were you just angry, all the time, or did you just have a shorter temper?

[lockwood]

Short temper. Like...really short. It wasn't hard to set me off.

[dontkanyeme]

That must have been rough to deal with.

[lockwood]

It could be. I never knew why I would get like that.

[dontkanyeme]

I know that feeling well. I didn't find out I was Fae until a few years ago.

[lockwood]

Yeah, I didn't find out about the family curse until a few weeks before I triggered it.

[dontkanyeme]

Getting blindsided by that kind of thing really sucks.

[lockwood]

Yeah. It really does. It explained a lot though. Why I always the way I was.

[dontkanyeme]

It's not all you are though. It doesn't have to define you.

[lockwood]

I don't see how it can't.

[dontkanyeme]

You're more than you're genes, Tyler. Before I understood what I was, I thought I was a monster. I had this ability that I couldn't control and was killing people, and for some reason, I couldn't stop.

But once I learned more about what I was, I was able to help people. I was able to use those skills for good. There's no reason you can't do the same.

[lockwood]

I tried to help people. All I did was get them killed.

[It's how he sees things right now, anyways.

He always tries so hard and everything always just blows up in his face.]

[Bo swings forward, turning to face him a little more before placing her arms on his hands.]

Listen to me. You gave them hope. They stood with you because they wanted to, because they made that choice and they couldn't have done that if it wasn't for you.

Even if it didn't end well, you took care of them. You did the right thing.

[lockwood]

[It doesn't feel that way. It doesn't feel like he did the right anything. It never does. He tries, he does, but he's just a fuck up. He doesn't know how to do things right. His mother was wrong -- he's not a leader. He doesn't know how to be.

But he tried. That's something, isn't it?]

But it wasn't enough.

He should of came for me.

[Not the hybrids. Not his mother.]

[dontkanyeme]

[Trying is always worth something. She just wishes she could give him more, that he at least could feel like he made a difference. She has to believe he did.]

I'm glad he didn't. Not that ... he went for the people he did, but I'm glad you're still alive.

[lockwood]

I'd rather they were. [It doesn't seem right that he gets to live and they don't. It had been his plan, he should have been the one to suffer for it.]

[dontkanyeme]

[But he is. Bo can see it, but she doesn't think that telling him that would make him feel any better.]

I know.

[She reaches for the bottle they were drinking from, screwing on the top, before turning to face him again.]

It's getting late. We should head back to my place.

[lockwood]

[It wouldn't. He's not sure what would.

He nods a little.]

Yeah, probably.
