Let Them Bleed, Let Them Wash Away; A Tyler Open Post

[ooc: Basically, this is free range for people to set up scenes with Tyler. Can be canon, crossover, whatever. There will probably be spoilery things bc I am not dealing well with the events of the last episode, this is the warning for that. Also feel free to comment oocly with an idea, and I can set something up too.]

Yeah, let's go. [ She moves to pull out her phone, texting her mom, holding the phone in a way so he can if he wants before she tucks the phone into her purse again. She pulls back to start them out of the study, towards the staircase, her fingers staying threaded in his.]

[lockwood]

[He drains the last of the glass before setting it on the desk (on a coaster, like his mother would have wanted) before letting her lead him up the stairs towards his room.

He's not sure he's ever noticed how big this house seems now. But he'll he be the only one living in it.]

[coy]

[ Caroline casts a glance towards Mrs. Lockwood's room before she pulls Tyler into his, closing the door behind them so the house doesn't seem so empty, so... big. She steps out of her heels, losing a few inches before she moves towards him to push his jacket from his shoulders, pressing a few kisses along his jaw. She's not trying for sex, she figures that's the last thing he might want, she's just trying to give him comfort however she can.]

[lockwood]

[It's funny, it wasn't that long ago that he was trying to convince her to have grief sex, but now it's the farthest thing from his mind.

Still, her touch is comforting. The reminder that he isn't completely alone. He helps remove her sweater before tugging her towards the bed.]

[coy]

[ She tosses her sweater to the chair along with his jacket before he tugs her towards the bed and she moves to pull back the covers. She presses another soft kiss to his lips before she moves so he can climb in and pick how he wants to lay down, how he wants them.]

[lockwood]

[He strips his slacks and dress shirt off, leaving him in his boxers before he climbs into bed. All he can hear in his head is how upset his mom would be if he ruined his good suit by sleeping in it, and the thought makes him want to cry.

He lies on his back, staring up at the ceiling]

[coy]

[ She takes the clothes he sheds and sets them on the chair with the rest of their clothes before she unzips her dress and pulls it over her head, leaving her in a slip and some underwear.

Climbing in next to him, she pulls the covers over them, moving to lay on her side, pressing up next to him. Her hand moves to slide over his chest, to rest on his heart, she presses a kiss to his chest, not saying a word but willing to listen.

[lockwood]

[He wraps his arm around her waist, tugging her closer to him now.

He's silent for a long time before finally speaking:]

I didn't expect to lose her so soon.

[coy]

Of course you didn't. [ She murmurs the words, moving to press closer to him, draping herself over him more-like. She rested her chin on his chest, glancing up at him.] You shouldn't have. We're supposed to outlive our parents, I know, but not yet. [ She wants to say that their parents should be old and grandparents before she realizes that... well, they'd never be grandparents, her expression falls.]

[lockwood]

I thought at least one of them would get to see me graduate.

[To settle down and get married and have kids -- except he'll probably never do any of those things now. Even if he was only a werewolf, he never would have risked passing down the curse to someone else.]

[coy]

[ She bites her lip for a moment before she looks up at him, her hand moving to his face to try to draw his gaze to hers.] They were proud of you, you know that? Like, really proud.

[lockwood]

I know. [He pauses before adding.] The last time I talked to her, I was telling her about my plan. She told me how proud my dad would be of me, of how I was a leader like he was.

[Though he still has some mixed feelings being compared to his father, all things considered.]

[coy]

You are an even better leader than him, Tyler. You did everything you could and it was Hayley... You thought you were doing the right thing. We all did. [ And in the end they'd been screwed. ]

[lockwood]

I just thought we could finally get rid of him. [And they could all be free. No more sire bond, no more curse.

So much for freedom.]

But instead....he's just taken even more.

[coy]

I wanted that too. [ And she felt bad for her part in the hiccup in the plan even if it almost worked out in the end. It should have if it wasn't for...]

He isn't going to stop until we stop him. [ She wonders if she'll be the only one who can get close enough--] Maybe it can be me. Maybe... I don't know. Maybe I can stake him with one of the special stakes.

[lockwood]

No. I don't want you doing that. If you failed. If he killed you too --

[It's not worth the risk. His grip on her tightens a little as he pulls her closer.]

I can't lose you too. It's not worth the risk.

[coy]

It's worth it if it means he'd be gone. You keep trying to sacrifice yourself and-- [ She sighs softly, letting him pull her closer, her arm slipping around him.] We don't need to talk about it now.

[lockwood]

[Maybe it's not fair, being willing to sacrifice himself but not being willing to let Caroline do the same. Tyler never said he was fair.]

No. We don't.

[coy]

[ Just this afternoon, she'd been lamenting the idea of him being in a plot of cement for who knows how long with Klaus inhabiting his body. And now... her life is a disaster and all she wants to do is fix it.]

I love you, okay? I just... want to make things right.

[lockwood]

I love you too. [He brings a hand up to run through her hair.]

I just don't want anyone else getting hurt for me.

[coy]

And I don't want you getting hurt at all. He's used you enough. And now that you're free, I want you to really be free of him.

[lockwood]

How is that ever going to happen? You really think he's going to leave me alone after this?

[coy]

Not until we get rid of him. [ She says it determinedly, like she wants to be the one to do it.] We don't need him or the sword anymore.

[lockwood]

What, you found another way to the cure? [Not that it really matters to him, as he said to Stefan for a hybrid, the cure only makes them back into werewolves. It's not exactly a win.]

[coy]

Apparently that Shane guy knows where it is. [ She's not sure she trusts him, that's clear in her voice but...] But it's hope. [ And that's all they have.]
