Open Picture Prompt Post

An Open RP Post, with a ~twist~. Basically, I love picture prompts more than life itself, so this is what you do.
1. You choose one of your characters.
2. You leave me a picture prompt and/or what character of mine you're requesting (if you don't request a specific one, I turn the wheel of RP fortune or something like that).
3. I comment setting up a scenario inspired/based on the prompt
4. profit????

but that's the narration. matt would much rather steer clear of all of them. of course, he can never seem to, as klaus is always intent on terrorizing the lives of his closest friends in some way or another.
one would think elena being a vampire would change things, and yet. now there's a supposed cure. matt's not sure what to think of that.
matt gives her a half-smirk and looks down at the suit. he does clean up nice. ]
What, this old thing?
no subject
At least, Rebekah's trying to steer clear from her brother these days, so there is that.
At the question, she nods her approval.]
Yes. I had forgotten how handsome you look in a suit.
no subject
now that you mention it, it has been a while since they came up with another theme. [ not that he's all too displeased about that.
things do tend to blow up whenever there is a dance.
it's a wonder any of them attend at all. ]
no subject
[Considering she was daggered after being possessed by her own mother. Seriously. wtf show let her go to a dance.]
no subject
[ There's a wryness to his tone that lets her know yes, a lot was happening, but ultimately, it was probably for the best she wasn't there. He lowers his gaze a bit, thinking of Mr. Saltzman. ]
no subject
no subject
instead, he turns to her once he's got his hands on the steering wheel. ]
You ready? [ for whatever the night brings. in mystic falls, one never can tell. ]
no subject
no subject
funny how things happen.
they reach the school in no time via the narration's powerful timey wimey powers, and then he's turning to her. ] We could always make a run for it, you know. [ he's joking! possibly. ]
no subject
We are not going to run for it. We are going to go inside, and we are going to dance and if someone tries to ruin it I am going to kill them.
[And now she's joking!
...maybe. ]
no subject
pls be joking, beks.
it's why he turns to her, smirk in place. ]
Let's not get too crazy now. [ and with that, he hops out of the truck and moves toward her door. he'd never outwardly admit it, but it's nicer than the truck he has, runs much more smoothly than it could've ever done.
thanks, beks.]no subject
Mostly.
Look she's had bad luck even getting to one of these if someone ruins this for her, all bets are off.
But for now she'll smile at that
ridiculouscharming smirk on hi lips, taking his hand as she steps out of the truck.]I'll try to reel myself in.
no subject
can this happen someday? it should happen someday.
matt closes the door behind her, and offers her his arm. he glances at her as he emphasizes the gesture. (she really does look beautiful, he thinks. hard not to think, considering.) ] Bad track record or not, I think we got this.
[ it's not jinxing themselves, okay. it's putting out a positive vibe.
just stay at home, klauschan. ]
no subject
Like if you think Carrie was an issue...welp...
But for now she'll just take his arm happily, unable to wipe the beaming smile from her lips (she's lived so long but sometimes the smallest things still make her happy -- moments where she feels like a young girl again).]
I think we're both more than capable of having a good evening.
[srsly klaus no one wants you there. you don't even go here.]
no subject
It's not our capability of having a good evening I would be worried about.
[ it's everything else. everything can go wrong in a dime, but matt's choosing to be optimistic this time around. thus the keywords being would be. they can totally have a blast, okay.
he leads rebekah into the familiar gymnasium, adorned to the brim with colorful frilliness and spotlights. none of the familiar faces have shown up, at least not yet, and strangely enough that's welcomed.
it just feels like him and her, and that's how this works best. somehow. when it's just him and her. ]
no subject
[Or seriously. Promzilla. That'll be a thing.
But for now her expression stays pleased, almost beaming with joy as she follows him into the gym. Sure, it's such a simple thing to be so happy about but she can't help it.
None of the others are here yet, not the people they really knew anyways, and it suits her just fine. It's best when they're alone.]
no subject
[ and it's not like he can say he wouldn't welcome a change of pace, or something going their way for once. matt doesn't like this feeling, of being stuck. of his friends being stuck and his being unable to leave them because it doesn't matter how hard they fight, something always ends up happening.
and it blows everything apart. he wants to be realistic, but he also doesn't want to believe that each and every single time something is going to go to hell. he doesn't want to keep himself from enjoying something because of the chance that it might.
so he turns to her with a slight smile once they step into the gym.
the lights are just right amount of dim as the couples start swarming toward the dance floor. ]
no subject
It feels so normal
And it certainly helps that she helped plan out the decoration themes. ]
no subject
balloons and trickling stars make her look in such a way that fancy balls can't, and it makes her that much harder to figure out. ]
Why's this stuff so important to you, anyway?
no subject
[Miracle of miracles, to be honest.
It's different. Sure, the ball had been nice and all, but she's been to a million balls with her family. This is different. Simple. A right of passage she's never gotten to have before.
At his question she shrugs her shoulders a little, trying to deflect.]
I've never gotten to go to one before, I wanted to see what it's like.
no subject
honestly, it goes with the whole invisible thing. people kind of overlook him easily, and that lets him, in turn, look at things more closely. if he notices she's trying to deflect, he doesn't call her on it.
he does study her for a moment, his lips curving almost imperceptibly. ]
So? [ he turns to her expectantly. ] Does it meet your approval?
no subject
Of course, she's not just a girl but this is still her first high school dance and she is here with a boy she really likes so perhaps it's not all pretend for once. She opens her eyes, the smile shifting to something more genuine now.]
It exceeds it, even.
no subject
he can give that to her, and maybe he wants to.
matt turns to rebekah when she says it exceeds it. ]
Night's not over yet.
[ he lifts up his arm in offer, before he tilts his head toward the dance floor. ]
no subject
No, it's just beginning.
[And they might as well enjoy themselves for now because knowing the Mystic Falls track record they would eventually go awry.
As he leads her onto the dance floor a slow number is playing. She takes one hand in her own while resting the other on his shoulder.]
