An Open RP Post, with a ~twist~. Basically, I love picture prompts more than life itself, so this is what you do.

1. You choose one of your characters.
2. You leave me a picture prompt and/or what character of mine you're requesting (if you don't request a specific one, I turn the wheel of RP fortune or something like that).
3. I comment setting up a scenario inspired/based on the prompt

[Rebekah wants a life like the movies Stefan told her about that night at the dance. She wants to be the girl someone blasts music for, she wants to be that special. She never has been though. Not for anyone. And though she wants to trust Stefan, she can't say she does completely. Trusting completely has landed her into too many bad spots in the past.

Which is why she isn't surprised when she finds out what happens to Kol, she isn't surprised when he tells her them planned on daggering her as well. What does surprise her is when he doesn't go through with it. It's not quite an 80s movie moment, but she'll take it.

And then after traveling through Novia Scotia, Elena gives her the stake, and it's just the three of them. Rebekah can't help but notice the close moments between Stefan and the Doppelganger. She's not the girl who gets picked in the end. She knows how this works.

Which is why she's wandering towards the beach as they talk by the campfire, waiting for a call or text or anything from the others. Some indication that they can move forward.

The sooner they get this over with the sooner she can maybe get that life she wants.]

[ Deep down, Stefan will always care for Elena. He may always love her on some level. In a lot of ways, she's his first love. He doesn't count Katherine for reasons and all of that adds up to the heartache he's felt during these past few weeks.

But, Elena isn't the priority right now. The cure is. While Elena gets a cell signal and calls Caroline, Stefan makes his way across the sand towards Rebekah. He wants to make it clear she has nothing to worry about. There's no plotting. No doublecross happening. And old feelings aren't creeping up in quite the way someone would expect.

And maybe he doesn't love Rebekah. But, he trusts her. For once. Wants to. ]

Elena's trying to get hold of Caroline.

[She nods a little. She's trying to be...well not optimistic, but not completely untrusting. Stefan and Elena haven't actually given her any reasons not to trust them -- not recently anymore.

She pockets her phone, looking up at Stefan.

Like it or not, if she has any hope of getting the cure, she has to believe he wants to help her -- at least a little.]

Do they really think my brother would actually help them translate things?

[interpersonally]

[ He does. He wants nothing more then for Rebekah, Elena and himself to take the cure. She should trust him. And Elena. They're in this together. ]

Right now their focus is the sword. Whether or not your brother will help... [ He doesn't know. ] With Jeremy, Bonnie, and Damon missing, we're out of options, Rebekah.

[Trust isn't something that comes easy for Rebekah -- not anymore.]

I don't see why he would. He doesn't want us to find it. He doesn't want us to take it -- or worse use it on him. Relying on my brother is just asking to be disappointed. Niklaus will never do anything to help us be happy.

[interpersonally]

[ And while he doesn't blame her for that... ]

Then Tyler and Caroline will help.

Assuming it's something they can help with. That sword is older than the three of you combined. And doubled.

[interpersonally]

Rebekah, thinking like that isn't helping. I'd ask why you're here but I know. Maybe think up of ways to actually help instead of discouraging everything.

I'm not discouraging anything. I'm just being realistic. Do you really expect two children to know how to translate something as old as those marks?

[interpersonally]

Let them find the sword, then we'll worry what the two children will do about it.

[ He takes a second. ]

Do you really think Klaus will never allow you to take the cure?

[easily]

Do you really think he would? [She counters easily.]

He doesn't want any of us to be happy. And if I am human it means eventually I will die and then he will truly be alone. More than he already is. Do you think he would allow for that?

[interpersonally]

I don't know what I believe anymore.

[easily]

Well if there's anything we can trust to believe in, it's my brother's treachery.

[interpersonally]

Klaus always wants to get his way.

[easily]

He does. And he always will.

[interpersonally]

No, he won't.

[easily]

Oh? He won't?

[interpersonally]

We'll figure something out, Rebekah.

[easily]

Of course we will. We didn't come all this way to fail now.

[interpersonally]

[ There we go. ]

Keep that attitude. We're going to need it.

[She smiles, almost wryly.] It's not the best odds we're going against, is it?
