Open Picture Prompt Post

An Open RP Post, with a ~twist~. Basically, I love picture prompts more than life itself, so this is what you do.

1. You choose one of your characters.
2. You leave me a picture prompt and/or what character of mine you're requesting (if you don't request a specific one, I turn the wheel of RP fortune or something like that).
3. I comment setting up a scenario inspired/based on the prompt

Who do you contact now?

[lockwood]

No one, I guess. I don't really have anyone left to contact.

[braveandstupid]

[she considers that for a moment, before nodding.]

Me too.

[lockwood]

Do you ever hear from Caroline? [He can't help but ask.]

[braveandstupid]

Sometimes? She sends me an email every once in a while.

[lockwood]

How's she been?

[braveandstupid]

She sounds really good. It's hard to tell from an email, but she seems happy.

[lockwood]

I'm glad. She deserves to be.

[braveandstupid]

Yeah, she does. I think we all do.

[lockwood]

Yeah, we do. [But Tyler's made peace with the fact that it probably isn't in his cards. A life on the run doesn't lead to a lot of happiness.]

[braveandstupid]

[Not if Elena has anything to say about it.]

So. Do you want to see the museum or do you want to head back to my place where I have some really awesome scotch?

[lockwood]

Awesome Scotch. [He's not sure he's ready to go inside that place just yet.]

[braveandstupid]

Scotch it is.

[and with that she'll turn to lead him in the direction of her apartment.]

[lockwood]

[He heard about the fire in one of the many, many voice mails he got from Caroline so he doesn't question why they aren't going in the direction of the old Gilbert place.]

[She still regrets that. She regrets a lot of things she did back then, but she's tried to put it in the past and move on.

Doesn't always work out that way, but she tries.

Case in point: the apartment building she lives in is Alaric's old building. There have been a few repairs and renovations over the years, so it doesn't quite look the same, but it's still familiar to her, and she clings to that a little more than she should.

It also isn't until she reaches the threshold of her building that she realizes something.]

I can't invite you in.

[lockwood]

[He blinks a little, surprised by that.]

You live with a human?

[braveandstupid]

Not live with but ... Matt's family has the deed to my apartment. They invite me in so I can live there, but I can't invite other vampires in without one of them present.

[lockwood]

Makes sense. I usually make an arrangement like that myself.

[To keep Klaus out, mostly.]

[braveandstupid]

[she nods.]

It's been good for keeping me safe. And keeping them safe when they need it.

[lockwood]

It's mutually beneficial.

[braveandstupid]

It is. And it keeps me close to them.

[lockwood]

Which must be nice, still having that connection.

[braveandstupid]

It's the only one I've really had. It helps keep me sane, to be honest.

[lockwood]

I'm a little jealous, honestly.

[braveandstupid]

Well, now you have me.

[and if she can try and keep him grounded, she's certainly willing to.]
