how to play.

1. Drop a comment with one or more of your muses. It can be empty if you want me to make a scenario, or you can toss one at me. If you want to just give me a prompt (a word, song, lyric, picture, phrase, anything), I can riff off that too.
2. In the subject line, you can specify any of my muses you might want to play with, or you can ask me to pick someone.
3. just rp with me. if something jives really well, maybe we can continue it in another one of these later, sort of like a super casual verse. if it doesn't, it doesn't.

He looks up when she makes her way inside, holding the glass up to her in greeting. All things considered, maybe drinking with Bela again isn't the best of ideas but it sure as hell beats drinking alone.

Surely they won't make the same mistake twice, right?

Of course not. They are much smarter than that.

She sits next to him, ordering herself a scotch, before turning to face him with a nod. "Couldn't sleep either?"

[lockwood]

He nods, shrugging a little before taking a long drink from his glass.

"I haven't really slept well in a long time."

[enjoythe_ride]

She knows the feeling. She thought after she managed to get out of her deal that things would be a little easier, but she knew too much for that.

"Sleeping well doesn't really happen in our world."

[lockwood]

"Yeah, I've kinda noticed it. Guess it's lucky I don't need a lot of sleep."

[enjoythe_ride]

She smirks a bit at that before taking a sip of her drink. "And very unfortunate for those of us that do."

[lockwood]

"Yeah, I imagine it is." He says, smirking back.

[enjoythe_ride]

She swallows down the sip of her drink, before tipping her head to the side. "We're getting close. Looks like it's going to be over soon."

[lockwood]

"Yeah, looks that way." Tyler is a skeptic -- it's hard to imagine a world where he's truly free of Klaus.

Bela doesn't blame him. She's been skeptical about a lot of things in her time, but she feels good about this. Besides, now it's her turn to have the hope. "If it succeeds you can go home."

[lockwood]

"Yeah. I can."

But he's not sure what to think about that. If Caroline knew everything that happened -- she wouldn't want him anymore.

Caroline doesn't have to know everything. Benefit of Bela keeping her mouth shut. Also, benefit of Bela not being around all that often. At the same time, Bela knows that Caroline could forgive him eventually. He bit her once, and if she forgave that then she could forgive this.

But Bela doesn't actually consider things in a normal way, so it's probably more the first two.

"Must be nice. To have a life to go back to."

[lockwood]

He didn't choose to bite Caroline. He had been sirebonded, no choice -- but this was a choice. He's not sure he can forgive that, let alone here. But he can't lie to her either.

"Honestly? It's not much of one. If it weren't for Caroline I don't think I'd go back at all."

[enjoythe_ride]

"You're all going to be graduating soon, yeah? You could go to university? See the world. You have a lot of choices, and you have someone to do them with. That's not nothing."

[lockwood]

"Yeah, I can. I guess...it doesn't seem like much anymore." There's a heavy sigh. "You know the last thing my mom wanted to see was me graduating."

[enjoythe_ride]

She smiles a bit at that. "Maybe it'd be worth it to stick it out, then. At least until graduation."

[lockwood]

"She'd probably come back to haunt me if I didn't."

[enjoythe_ride]

"Which really is the last thing you want. Trust me on that." Bela's been on the bad end of too many angry spirits. Her tone makes it seem like she's joking, but no, she's totally serious.

[lockwood]

"Believe me, I know."

He's heard enough from Matt about the fiascos with Vicki's ghost.

[enjoythe_ride]

"Still - you can go anywhere, do anything. Some people may be a little envious of that." Including the person who happens to be sitting next to him.

[lockwood]

"You know what's really sad? I've never even thought where I'd want to go"

Every time he's left Mystic Falls he's been running.

[enjoythe_ride]

"You're what? Eighteen?" She shrugs. "You have all the time in the world to think about it. I wouldn't be so down on yourself."

[lockwood]

"Yeah, I guess." It's hard not to be though. Tyler's never really been good at letting himself off the hook.

[enjoythe_ride]

That's something that usually comes with time. And it's hard when your parents are constantly holding you accountable for things. She shrugs. "You need to do it when you're ready, if nothing else."

[lockwood]

"Whenever that day comes." It has to eventually, right?
