[Tyler doesn't have the brain to be smart right now, or anything. He just knew he couldn't stay in that house, that empty giant house all by himself.

And he and Caroline are on the rocks, he can't trust Hayley, and he failed his pack and everything just hurts. He got in the car and just started driving and somehow, he ended up here.

When he looks up at Bo, it's probably easy to tell he's been crying.]

My mom died. I got her killed.

[The words don't make any sense at first. Bo can't believe that Tyler would get someone like his mother killed, but that doesn't really matter. She doesn't hesitate to take his hand, and pull him in the door and into a hug. Talking will come later.]

I'm so sorry.

[Maybe that's a simplification of what actually happened, but still. His mom is dead because he tried to take on Klaus. He can't help but feel it's his fault.

He takes the hug easily, not saying anything else. He's not sure he could talk much right now anyways.]

[She'll hold him for as long as he needs. She's still trying to process it herself. Kenzi's out and Hale and Dyson are working, so they don't have to worry about unexpected visitors.]

[He finally pulls away, taking a deep breath.] I didn't know where to go

You can stay as long as you need.

[she pulls back a little more, before gesturing to the couch.]

C'mon. Let's sit. Tell me what happened.

[He nods a little, unsure of whether he can recall it all or not, but he sits down, trying to gather his thoughts.]

[She settles onto the couch next to him, letting him take his time. She can't imagine what he's going through right now. She knows how it felt when she lost Aife, and they weren't even that close. Tyler's probably feeling much worse.]

[He tries to breathe, tries to think, gather anything to say. Finally he manages.]

I was trying to free the other hybrids, trying to stop Klaus once and for all -- and he found out. He killed all of them. And then my mom. [It should have been him.]

[her brow furrows as she takes in the information.]

How did you get out?

[and the fact that he killed her mom and not Tyler himself -- something must have happened that kept him out of the line of fire.

Also, if he was followed she wants to be ready. She's not scared of this Klaus guy, but she's not going to sit on her ass twiddling her thumbs if he's heading this way.]

I don't know. Luck I guess. Once I found my mom [He can still see it, her head in the fountain, her lifeless body] I just got home, got in my car and left. I don't know where he was. I'm lucky he wasn't waiting at the house for me.

Okay.

[He's going to have to go back eventually. His mom is dead, and if anything there will be questions. But he doesn't have to go back right now.]

Do you think he's still looking for you?

[Sometimes the crueler thing can be to leave them alive but leave them alone.]

If he wanted to find me, he would have. [Tyler's pretty sure he killed his mother because Klaus knew that would be worse for him.

Tyler would rather be dead than have someone die for him.]

[She'll take his word for it. She glances back towards the kitchen and does a silent appraisal of what alcohol she has in stock, before getting to her feet.]

Come on. We're going to the Dahl.

[He looks kind of hesitant at the idea.] Not really in the mood to go to the bar.

[She slides on her jacket and nods.]

I know. I wouldn't be either. But a) I do not have enough alcohol to get you as stupidly drunk as you probably want to be right now and b) on the off chance that Klaus does decide that all the people he's already killed tonight aren't good enough and he really does want your head on a stick, we'll have back up. Fae aren't really fond of other immortals wandering in on their turf.

[Plus there's a chance some of them might be older than Klaus. She settles the leather jacket on her shoulders before moving back to him.]

There's a private room in the back. We can grab a couple bottles, and you won't need to interact with anyone but me. But it'll be safer than here.

[He nods numbly, standing to his feet finally.]

Okay, but I don't want to be putting anyone else at risk. No one else needs to get hurt for me.

[Twelve hybrids and his mom. That's a lot for one night. He's not sure there's enough alcohol in the world to fix any of that.]

[She slides an arm around his shoulders and pulls him close.]

Don't worry. If Klaus shows, the only one getting hurt is him.

[He nods a little. It's hard to imagine anyone actually managing to hurt Klaus. Maybe he had been stupid to try.]

Okay

[It's never stupid to try. That's why fighting for things is important, you just have to make sure you do it the right way.

She gets them in the car and drives them off to the Dahl. Not long after they arrive, they have a very large bottle of whiskey, a few shot glasses and the entire back room to themselves.]

[Tyler follows her to the back room, filling up a couple of shot glasses for them before grabbing one of them and downing it quickly.

It burns, but that's about it. It'll take a lot more than that to numb everything else he's feeling. Assuming he can.]

[They're certainly going to try. She downs her own glass, before reaching for the bottle to pour them some more.]

Should we toast? Or is it too soon?

We can toast. [He brings up the shot glass.] To my mom, she accepted me even when she knew I was a monster. And to my pack, who I let down. [And then he downs it.]

[There's a small hesitation when he says "pack." That's not a word choice she's heard from him before. She downs her shot quietly, and goes to pour them another before she actually speaks.]

Pack?

The other hybrids. I was helping them break their sire bonds to Klaus.

He found out.
